Tenerife

Located in the Canary Islands, Tenerife is one of the safest places of the world that hosts circa 6 million tourists per year. Among its cultural and natural attractions are found sites such as the National Park of Las Cañadas del Teide, the World Biosphere Reserve of the Anaga Massif or San Cristóbal de La Laguna (World Heritage Site).
Approximately 50% of its 2034 sqm are under the shelter of environmental protection rules. Tenerife is the biggest island of the Canaries, inhabited by around 900.000 people. From a climate point of view, Tenerife stands out by its contrasts modelling the landscape of the island: dry and arid at the south, warm and subtropical at the northern coast, humid at the midlands and of high-mountain climate in its heights.
The island has two airports with regional, national and international connections to around 200 destinations (142 internationals in 28 countries). In total, the island receives approximately 15 million passengers per year in its two airports.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife

The city, capital of the island of Tenerife, hosts the World Extraordinary Congress on Mummy Studies. Santa Cruz, name of the city as is typically known, has circa 205.000 inhabitants and is the center of Tenerife’s metropolitan area with 400.000 inhabitants.
The capital is located at 13 km (8 miles) of Tenerife North- TFN Airport and at 59 km (36 miles) from Tenerife South –TFS airport. The city is connected with these airports through two highways, served by public transportation services: Buses and Taxi.
The city also offers maritime communications with the Iberian mainland and other islands of the Canarian Archipelago.  Moreover, Santa Cruz de Tenerife is base harbor of cruises sailing through the Atlantic.
Inside the city, our visitors can move through the urban bus service or with the tramway connecting Santa Cruz with the neighbor city of La Laguna. Santa Cruz de Tenerife has an excellent 24/7 taxi service.
